Something a little different about fishing.

What are some of the most unusual things you ever caught while fishing. This all happened in CT.....Around age twelve, while fishing from shore, I hooked an ocean Sunfish that had strayed too far north in the extremely warm water here at the time. Of course I never landed it with my twelve pound test line. It had to be over 400 pounds..... Around the same age, I caught and released an albino eel. At age fourteen, while fishing for snapper blues, I caught a 5 foot shark and landed it on 8 pound test line. It was not a dogfish. A real shark. A Brown Shark I think. I released it too.

My one and only time I went fishing was when at Pelican Lake in Wisconsin and thought I was in Love...All I caught was a bad cold...lol

I was fishing in northern Ontario using a 4 inch chub for bait. A fish took my bait and as I was reeling it in an even bigger fish grabbed that fish! I made sure he swallowed it and set the hook. I managed to land it. So my chub caught a pike and that pike caught an even bigger pike. A fish caught a fish that caught another fish.

wow.....that's so cool. Yep, Pike are real bad boys. Eat anything that moves. Even each other.

Fly fishing at night,michigan river,for big browns. False casting to dry my fly when line went limp. Then line jerked straight up and almost took my rod and all. Grabbed it with both hands while the line whirled in circles over my head! If anyone can guess what was going on, i could have used some help.

For a while i just held on. Then the line went slack again and something swatted my rod tip and landed in the water in front of me. I reeled the line tight and turned on my head lamp. A BAT!!

He had taken my fly in mid-air. I had to put my rod-tip under water and drown the critter to retrieve my fly. Went back to fishing luckily no toilet paper required.

Yikes....don't like bats, yet they eat their fair share of mosquitos. Yes, Billy saving the bale counts....hey, you caught it right?

A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work anytime. That's not an original by the way. Try it again sometime Galeygoo. Just pick a picture perfect day and the rest will fall into place. However, some of the best fishing trips are when you get soaked to the skin. Unlike the casinos who soak you to the skin and reward you just with something to entice you again.

I used to break dawn on the beaches of South Lauderdale pretty often. A couple of my workers were into sunrise surfing and after a tough nite of work, a dawn bonfire kicked ass.
One morning they get all excited. A bale of marijuana was floating in. I doubt any lifeboat service ever responded with such dedication. With little regard for our safety, that bale was rescued and rehomed.
