Why Do People Play Negative Video Poker Games?

For the c=vast majority of people who are otherwise robustly healthy, DVT is not an issue unless they fin themselves literally stuck in the exact same position for more than 6 hours. However if you are a person who is NOT robust and healthy and therefore at risk for DVT, if you find yourself having to sit for longer than 2 hours at a stretch then you need to take precautions and preventive measures.

First off.....People at risk for DVT generally fall into several categories: Seniors 60+ (again the healthier you are the less the risk), people who smoke or are overweight, people with a history of diabetes, blood disorders or heart issues, people who consume excessive amount of alcohol, people with high blood pressure, and people who are chronically dehydrated (i.e. who fail to consume enough water).

The easiest thing to do to prevent DVT obviously is to move around for a few minutes at regular intervals, but certainly every two hours at a minimum. Another very easy thing to do is drink a lot of water or other beverages that do not contain alcohol or caffeine (along with keeping your blood volume high and loweing clotting risk, having to get up to urinate regularly accomplishes another preventive step! Call it killing two Birds with one Kidney stone.)

Some medications will help, but beware the temptation to take an Aspirin and then assume you are covered.....aspirin as a preventive for DVT from sitting is not a good choice, and instead carries with it certain risks like gastrointestinal bleeding. Consult your doctor before taking any medication for DVT, and for generally assessing your risk for DVT.

As for myself, when I poker, chess or VP, I generally am constantly fidgeting and moving around anyway...partly its a strategy, such as when playing either chess or poker (two very strategic games) I want my opponent to think I am nervous and uncertain, and moving and flailing about in my wheelchair accomplishes this while also maintaining good circulation. VP is another story...I have to consciously tell myself to get up, stretch and move around every 30 minutes.....I do however consume lots of water so this takes care of any risk I might personally have for DVT given my congenital bone disease.

The balance of your post? I'm not sure if I should call it irritating or illuminating. It's irritating because what's said is so much at variance with my own feelings. On the other hand, it's illuminating because it reveals so much about yours, and explains why you continue to post the stuff that you do.
I'm glad we understand each other. :)

DaBurglar your post about DVT is an almost complete misdiagnosis.

Out side of FPDW all games are negative, it's just a matter of how much. There must be a 98%-99% games at most every casino. With free play, other comps and promos one should be able to play near even every month. Even if you only get to 99.5% with all the goodies as a Recreational Player one should still get a great value out of VP.

VP is the best gaming value in the casino. If you play them small and smart, even a 96% VP game is better than slots. The key is to pace yourself, learn the right strategy for the pay tables you have and learn to be happy with small wins. The dream of hitting a big jackpot is your worst enemy.

Only take with you what you can afford to lose. Leave your ATM cards home. When you're out of money, quit. If you are ahead, consider going home a winner instead of feeding it back into the machines. Don't expect to win all the time. Be happy when you do.

That's not totally true. There are still a few casinos around that offer 10/7 double bonus poker , and 10/6 double double bonus poker.

I'm curious as to where those casinos are? The last time I was in Vegas I found a few full pay machines at Red Rock. Anywhere else?

Pretty much all the station casinos (red rock being one of those) and many of the Boyd casinos have >100% VP.
