Players clubs bet amount
If I use my Players card, do they send different offers if i play quarters, dollars, or more or do they only care how much total i spend on the machine?

Most players clubs are based on coin in. Some are effected by coin out.
For most, a hour of dollar Jacks is the same as four hours of Quarters on the same game.
It's important to fully understand the club and even what hours the casino considers a day.
It's equally important to understand that the booth clerks are underpaid, overworked and generally not that up on the player side benefits.
At a CET property,if you give them $30,000 coin in one day and throw $20 in a machine while waiting for valet the next day you just cut your comp offers by half. They see you as an average bet of $15,000 a day. Had you not put in the $20, you'd be rated $30,000 a day.
Now they take your $30,020 and divide it in two.
Some casinos discount your play if you only play their best machines, some seem to include multipliers while others don't.
Reading Jean Scott's books will teach you what to look for in a club, what questions to ask and who to ask.
Some casinos will severely curtail future offers if they think you abused an offer. Others seem pretty nonchalant about it.
So, for the most part, your offers are based on total coin in, but not entirely and not everywhere.

Do they all work in "days" like that? I often do most of my play on one day (many thousands in coin in) and maybe play $20 or so a couple other days real quick. Would I be better off playing it all in one day and not at all the other two?

At a Caesar's property, it's best to either play big or not use your card.
It really depends on the club.

This is a good topic. It brings up a lot of questions. If I play max coin quarters for 3-4 hours, my bounce back free play is normally about $20-$25. If I have a good day and am able to switch to dollars for an hour or so, my free play nearly doubles. If I hit a quarter royal for $1,000 it does the same thing. Playing slots definitely increases my free play as well. Is there something going on at our local casinos that is more than coin in?

You have to keep track of the dollar amount you play through a VP machine and slot machine separately everytime you go to the casino. They are treated differently by the casino. You need to ask questions at the players club. You have to keep track of your bounce back too. The formula used isn't the same between all casinos. It is up to you to figure it out for your casino. You may have to make a friend that is playing $5 denomination VP since they may know. Or you can just play and be entertained.

Free play is something I never paid much attention to until the last few years. When you play cheap, you don't get free anything. You don't need to because you don't lose much. I play max coins now because my wife and I use comped rooms frequently as mini vacations. Those rooms are worth anywhere from $200 to $500 a night. Hollywood is a special bargain for us as they now have 8/5 Bonus Poker and 98.9% Deuces Wild in quarters.Waiting4RF wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 8:13 amYou have to keep track of the dollar amount you play through a VP machine and slot machine separately every time you go to the casino. Playing like I do now, my free play averages anywhere from $20 to $150 a time. Our casinos have bonus free play days and I look for them. Playing one day a week, we eat free as well. You are right about checking the players club. Most clerks don't have the answers. We go up the ladder until we find someone that does. It's amazing to me the things the casino will give you if you ask for it. I guess if you are going to play negative games, they can afford to?
So you know, I don't have any friends who play $5 VP in Florida. None of them are that stupid. If you walk into the high limit room in our State, you can shoot a canon off and not hit anyone. Once in a while a gold toothed athlete or a lawyer from NY will give it a whirl. The casino will send the prettiest girls you have ever seen to wait on their every desire. Believe me, they pay for it.

There is new computer technology becoming available called "AI" or artificial intelligence. Companies like Google, Apple and IBM are leading this field. It won't be long until the video poker machine will know what you are thinking by how you have played. They won't break any laws and the effect will be subtle as first. This will be very hard to detect. Will the regulators be able to keep up? I doubt it. I'm not saying there is a problem at the moment but it's coming. If you don't think this can happen, Google it and find out.
Times are changing and it's not only the odds. Players should be thinking about what they will do when positive games don't exist anymore. You can quit the game or reduce the amount you put through the machines. Which one will you choose?

Now that's funny!! Definitely the joke of the day.
Every now and then someone posts something so funny on this forum that I almost fall off my chair. The last time was when Billy posted "Beware the Dollar Succubus!". I got my $8 worth this month.
