Full Jitneys

Post by FAA »

I was rather shocked by the full jitney situation today. People love to venture out in torrential rainstorms. Town is hosting Miss America. But none of these sad sacks shall attend.

They were full last weekend too. Had to wait for third one by just for the two of us to get a seat.

Learn alternative transportation options to the Jitney....starting with the NJ Transit buses. Each of the three marina casinos has the #501 transit route bus stop right in front every hour on the hour, with the frequency increased to every thirty minutes during am & pm rush hours....Bus 501 is the route from the AC Bus terminal to Brigantine and back. To travel from the AC terminal to either Borgata, Harrah's or GN costs 75 cents! The bus makes several stops in between which include one stop at the corner of South Carolina & Atlantic Ave that essentially leaves you one block from Resorts and Hard Rock! The bus terminal itself as you must know is only a block and a half from Bally's/Caesars, so NJTransit #501 will effectively take you to any AC casino except the Tropicana or Ocean, albeit with a little walking to either the Terminal or the stop on Atlantic/S.Carolina! 75 cents per trip versus 2.50, and it's a regular on time scheduled BUS and not a rinky dink van!

Of course, the CET courtesy shuttle van for TR card holders that departs Evey 20 minutes or so from 10am to 10pm between the three CET casinos is another option. It's free if you are platinum or higher, but platinum level TR only gets on if there are no diamond/7* ahead of you...plain gold TR I think must pay a fee... I'm not sure of this since I have never used it except a few times as a diamond. The shuttle is discriminatory against disabled riders because the van with the handicap lift often is not operational, which means someone like me is left without recourse to use the CET complimentary shuttle that I earned and have every right to utilize!

I am enjoying Caesars-Ocean RTs, so I was SOL. But I've been hesitant about boarding the Harrah's 501 for lack of change. Now with a larger pouch for my cards, I can easily store change. Hate the TR shuttle. But now that it's off season, demand outside of holiday weekends should wane. HR and OR are drawing. Paco,it was Labor Day weekend and naturally busy. Get it?

501 sounds like the way to go. TR shuttle is hit and miss.

But it only runs hourly! We may go crazy with bad timing. Based on my gambling, my timing awful.
