Have the reports from members' trips and VP experiences greatly tailed off in frequency the last 8-9 months (i.e. since January 1 of this year)??? Where has Lucky Larry and Sweet C been? What's happened to the other people who would report from time to time?
Is it people just not playing as much? Not wanting to post? Not winning?
I really don't play for real in Casinos anymore so I am not being critical, I am just bemoaning the fact I don't have a vicarious outlet...my next visit to South Jersey/Cape May and the AC area (probably some time in the next month or so) will only see me play either Live Poker or place some sports bets (FOOTBALL!!)
I have been playing ON this site though lately....Powerhouse Poker is my latest favorite. There was a Powerhouse Machine in the Golden Nugget in AC the last time I was there. It is a lot of fun but is BRUTAL on the Bankroll if you don't hit a dealt hand very soon into the session. I was just playing a few minutes ago....10 hand Powerhouse Poker Bonus Deluxe, and was dealt quad fours! My total score was 8000 for the hand! if only I hit that for real!
Is it just me or....

Video poker is a pretty simple game. Once you get past calculating game odds and perfect plays, there's not much more to talk about. Since we agreed to disagree peacefully, the strategy wars have stopped. Once in a while someone new asks a question or makes a statement that starts a mini battle, but that's about it.
Frankly, I am enjoying the peace. I'm on my way to the Hard Rock this morning. I'll watch the same people play the same games. I'll play the same game the same way and it will have the same result. My wallet will be slowly drained until I hit a royal. When I do, I'll get most of my money back.
If I want to dream about getting rich playing VP, I'll pick up my old dog eared copy of "Million Dollar Video Poker" and read it for the 30th time. Maybe someone will post that playing $100 a point is profitable or that professional gamblers are more intelligent than everyone else? To really fire things up, how about a post that says they would be happy if their daughter married a professional gambler? Gosh, I miss the good old days.
Seriously, I think we have run out of things to talk about. Someone hit a royal and post a picture, please.....

Before anyone gets their shorts in a bunch, I did not post these comments to take a shot at anyone. I posted them to show how controversies start. These statements were meant to be controversial from the very beginning. When I post about single coin play, I expect the same thing. Controversy on this forum is a good thing as long as it doesn't evolve into a personal attack. What else is there to talk about if we don't disagree once in a while?FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 3:51 amIf I want to dream about getting rich playing VP, I'll pick up my old dog eared copy of "Million Dollar Video Poker" and read it for the 30th time. Fatalistic, but realistic. Incredibly simple system, or lack thereof. It beats mine, sliding in and out of dollar play from one to five. Getting caught on min bet RF was the turd on top. I estimate that I would pay $5,000 to see a $1,000 RF, but that probably beats current performance.

4 years in a row I have gotten crushed, maybe I should try something else..................

Been busy with working OT at my new(ish) job for extra money (not for playing VP sadly ). Also, like others have mentioned, whenever I do go out and play my bankroll tends to go poof.

Thanks for posting honest forthright statements, jc1656 & Azure Dragon! You expressed what is the general "norm" in Video Poker Results the past 5+ years (give or take a year) for most casual to moderately serious players, based on my own observations and interactions with players from Atlantic City. NO one earns a straight up long term significant cash PROFIT anymore (i.e. simply Cash Out MORE money than they put in); If they do like Bob Dancer allegedly does and acts like an "AP" by counting every single giveaway, promotion, freebie etc. the casinos give them in the casinos' efforts to keep them pumping money in, then maybe...MAYBE they might show a hypothetical profit over the long term. But I'm sorry, I do not derive utility or satisfactory value for having lots of t-shirts, Crockpots & frying pans, Luggage etc in exchange for my cash.jc1656 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 12:04 pmDaBurglar,

We have been in Vegas the last 5 days. Even though both my wife and I have each hit a royal, we never take pictures. Royals are great and they usually determine whether you win or lose but they are just part of the game. My wife did win 500 dollars in a cash grab at Sam’s Town as that was one of the offers we took part in but I only won 25 dollars and that was the lowest you could get.
