Posting Jackpot Photos

Post by FloridaPhil »

Recently a member stated he was disappointment in this website because he comes here to look at photos of jackpots. Particularly, hand pay royals. One member poked fun at this statement saying they were players not tourists. Others said they never post jackpot photos for one reason for another. I guess they think sharing a jackpot with others is for amateurs?

This attitude is missing the point of why we have this website. This website is here to garner interest in Video Poker by providing a place where we can talk about our common experiences. Without photos, everything on this forum becomes background noise.

Posting photos is easier than ever on this forum. Before the latest upgrade, you had to upload the photo to a web server on the Internet. This was beyond the scope of some member's computer knowledge. The way it works now, you add the photo as an attachment and the photo is directly uploaded to your post. Much easier.

We should all be posting photos to this website. It doesn't have to be jackpots. As long as we don't post photos of identifiable people, I don't think there is a problem. Phone cameras are common now and casinos have loosened their policy on picture taking. I take photos inside my casinos all the time and I have never had a casino call me out for it. I would love to see a photo of Billy's dog being groomed with comps. In return, I'll post a photo of one of my $62.50 royals. (joke)

If you hit a jackpot, let's see it. My photo of Mrs. Dancer standing next to a $400,000 jackpot is getting pretty faded. I suspect she's never going to post another jackpot. How about you?

My $250 RF is neither pride nor joy. But if it is as easy as stated, I will add some attachments in the future. I take pictures of quads to remember winning trips.

I don't have a smartphone, nor do I have any plans to acquire one - I guess I'd be considered a dinosaur. Therefore, do not expect jackpot pictures from me. I do have one nice picture on my computer, taken by a casino staff member, of me displaying one of those large "cheques" for $10,000.

Phil, nobody poked fun at anyone. The comment a poster made had nothing to do with posting pictures here for others to see, but rather: them taking pictures of royals in general. I believe the poster said something like " I don't act like a tourist and take pictures of run of the mill royals." I took this as meaning that the person who said this may be apt to take a picture of a big hit but not just a, for example: 1k royal.

Why do you continue to include comments about billryan and Bob Dancer in your posts? And by the way: sometimes faded photographs are pretty cool. I look at faded photos of my parents and loved ones on a regular basis.

I like looking at pictures of VP jackpots. I suspect I'm not alone in this. As far as I am concerned the bigger the jackpot the better. I like to fish too. Do I get excited when I see a photo of my grandson with a 2 pound bass when I could post a photo of me with a 12 pounder? Yes. It's fun to share in other people's joy and not assign everything a monetary value.

The only reason I mentioned Mrs. Dancer is because that is probably the most famous video poker jackpot photo in history and I haven't seen any jackpot photos from them since. I mentioned Billy because he is always talking about profiting from VP, but he never seems to win anything but free beers, meals and dog grooming. Show me the money.... (joke)

My point is, let's post more photos so we have something to look at other than words.

After taking a month off from playing I got bored last night and took a drive to Harrah's Joliet; only had 1 decent hit:
