Extra draw frenzy

Post by DaBurglar »

As you know by now, I've pretty much given up video poker (especially as far as AC is concerned)....if per chance I ever find myself out in VEGAS again anytime soon, I may sample the latest games out there a little.....but any future visits to AC will not involve VP, maybe just some live poker and a few sports bets.

But one of the reasons Ive given up AC VP is this game called Extra Draw Frenzy found on all those ubiquitous ALL STAR II machines that permeate all three CET casinos in AC. My last year and 3/4 (early 2015 to early 2017, give or take) playing VP in AC saw me playing those machines a lot, and specifically extra draw frenzy.

I never ever really hit anything worth noting, in particular with the bonus feature which is the whole reason to play that game. when you get dealt three of a kind! Now the frequency of getting a three of a kind on a draw is about once every 80 hands, correct? Well I can most assuredly tell you, I did NOT receive anything close to that frequency of 3 of a kind. My experience was more like 1 in every 150 hands.....

Then, when you DID catch a triple, the subsequent Bonus round of 24-27 bonus hands (playing 10 handed) saw all too often a bunch a whiffs on connecting for a four of a kind.

Has ANYONE out there had any success with this game in places like Vegas or elsewhere??? It really could and should be a fun game, but not when it is so onesided!!!

Well thanks, that's what happens when you cease playing VP for a extended period..... that's even more pathetic and far worse than I realized for my extra draw frenzy results!

For anyone out there who plays so called "gimmick games" like extradraw frenzy (and others like STP, UltX , QQs, etc) try to honestly assess the average starting hand quality in comparison with a normal regular single line game. I'm of the opinion that, buried somewhere in the Programming for gimmick games is something that takes the results of the inviolate RNG and filters, or otherwise modifies the initial dealt hand to prevent strong hands from appearing too frequently. If you play all the games on a typical All Star II, or even a Five Star machine, closely observe the starting dealt hand quality. You're going to notice over the long haul just how difficult it is to get dealt three of a kind or any other strong initial hand!!

I've never noticed any difference. I've had these same long stretches on single line games as well. I've also had stretches where It seems that every dealt hand is two pair, 3 oak, etc., whether on multi-line games, "gimmick" games, or what have you.

One thing of note on EDF. On games where you are supposed to hold a kicker with your 3oak, like being dealt AAA34 on TDB, the game automatically, and ONLY, allows for the holding of the 3oak. So in the example, it'll only keep the AAA and discard the 34.
