It seems to me we have a lot of players who claim to make a profit playing VP. No one ever talks about losing. Doesn't this seem strange to anyone but me?
At one time, I played VP much bigger than I do now. We traveled to Vegas frequently. I spend so much time in the Houston airport switching planes that I knew the waitresses by their first names. We quit going to Vegas when my wife was given four cards for sex shows in 20 minutes walking down the strip. We used to stay at the Bellagio. At that time you could actually see the casinos from the street.
We eventually moved our play to classier places. We discovered Biloxi and Black Hawk and found casinos where they didn't treat us like the next group of tourists. We still play in Vegas, but we much prefer the off strip casinos like Red Rock and South Point. It's not just the good games that draw us there, it's the no hustle atmosphere.
As we get older, we want different things from video poker. We aren't as concerned with winning as much as the experience. Going to the casino is fun. Making a profit is secondary to us. As long as we feel like we get our money's worth, we are happy. Are we the only couple on this forum that feels this way?
Good luck in the Mega Millions tonight. If I win I'm going to buy both Red Rock and South Point so I can make money from VP. Wouldn't that be ironic?
