This past weekend I had my first real "back from the dead" experience in video poker. We all know the feeling when you get to the dreaded "running out of coins" stage where you can no longer afford the max bet but you keep going until you run out of money because it's not worth cashing out a ticket for small change. Well, there I was at the end of my day's gambling budget. Pressing max bet over and over again on a 10 play Double Double machine and just hoping I wouldn't hit a low coin royal. I was down to my final 7 credits, betting just 1 credit on 7 lines and not holding a single card, I drew four 2's for a whopping 80 coins. TERRIBLE TIMING! So there I was after one of my best ever draws and I had barely enough for one more max bet play! Obviously I wasn't going to walk away with 20 bucks left on the machine so I went ahead and pressed Max again, ready to walk away in disgust. I couldn't believe it. Dealt Aces on the next hand! I didn't draw a single kicker but it was good for a $2,000 hand pay. I know I will never see that kind of luck again. And in case you are wondering if I kept on playing, the answer is I RAN to my car when I got my money. LOL. It almost felt like I was stealing, leaving with so much after I was sure I was leaving with nothing that day.
